7. There are over 50,000 white paints and choosing the wrong one could instantly ruin the vibe of your entire home, if not your life. Do you want a neutral, blue, yellow or pink white? Warm or cool? Gloss or semi? Blah or blah? It all makes me want to skip the white, fandango.
8. Etaoin Shrdlu, pronounced “eh-tay-oh-in shird-loo” is believed to be the twelve most common letters in English, in order of most frequently used to least frequently used. I’m not sure why we need to know this.
9. If your child is scared before sleep or during the night, it’s comforting for them to know that you’ll be popping in to “check” on them. But rather than tell them “Don’t worry, I’ll come and check on you in five minutes” (instantly setting the spark of “you said there was nothing to worry about so why do you need to check to make sure I’m okay?” in their little heads) tell them “I’ll come in every now and then just to remind you that there’s nothing to worry about.” This has worked really well with the Tsunamis.
10. In all things, to thine own self be true.

Loved all the things you learnt this week. The Brazilian wax thing…who’d have thunk it?
The ruffle skirts are real purty. Takes me back to my youth… *sigh*
I learnt this week (yet again, I must say) that kids can surprise you. I figured that getting my kids to soccer camp would be a sh*t fight each morning this week, but they were fine. 8yo still a little nervy about being separated from me – and I had to promise him each day FIFTY TIMES that I would arrive at least 10mins early before finishing time – but it went rather well.
Love ya work, hon! x

I find I am looking forward so much to this post! Its fast becoming my Friday morning ritual …very nice.
Number 1 – I soo agree with this one. But as an early childhood teacher, it is something I struggle to admit!
Thanking you for the fabulous tip on number 9, we played musical beds last night due to some “scary kookaburras” keeping my son awake.
And what did I learn this week? You need to constantly remind yourself of the lessons you have learnt in life….as this week i have found they are very easy to forget!

I get what you mean about the orchids..I have tried growing kangaroo paws since we got married and none have grown and yet my parents have a bontiful and healthy amount of them in their overgrown front garden to which they do ABSOLUTELY NOTHING! perhaps that is the clue 😉 .
Interesting facts in this post and I really do like numbers 9 & 10 🙂

Having just been to an indoor playcentre, I am feeling the vibe on point one. That is all I can manage to say on the matter.

I’ll have to remember #9, that’s a great tip.
This week I’ve learnt to keep a closer eye on Lilly when my reading glasses are at all possibly accessible, because if I don’t, she will happily twist off one of the arms. At least it gave me an excuse to go and buy myself something new!

I can totally relate about the disliking a kid thing and wanting to be mean to them! Sad but true, there are just some kids who are little shits that make you want to smack them!
I learnt this week that the man who invented the flushing toilet’s surname was Crapper. Probably not news to most people but I thought it was interesting.
Thanks for stopping by my blog too by the way, I’m looking forward to reading through more of your posts.

I think you taught me a thing or two.
However I did already know about No.6.
Mil gave us her orchids to ‘plant-sit’, we hid them on the tank stand, and what-do-you-know? Bloomed! We were stunned!! 🙂
