Here in Maxabellaland, Saturday is traditionally a sport, shop, sort the clothes, sweep the floors, strangle the Tsunamis (insert other ‘s’ words here – no pun intended) kinda day. But on Maxabella loves… I thought it would be grounding to make Saturday my ‘grateful’ day.
This Saturday I’m grateful for…
1. The view from my verandah. I’m sitting here right now and above is the view from my laptop (don’t you wish I was a better photographer!!). It’s impossible to sit on my front verandah and not feel like life is good. (Of course, all I can really see is that the car still has the spare tyre on the back wheel after a month… but still… life is still good.)
2. Green tea. I’m 2 months sober off the diet cokes now and it’s all thanks to green tea. I’m very pleased to have broken a 20 year habit so smoothly. Special thanks goes out to green tea with mint; you are comfort in a cup.
3. Comments. I swear I’m not sucking up. But there is something about reading an extension to my blog post that just makes my whole day. Food for thought and food for the soul. I love ’em and I’m grateful for them every single time.
So, what’s making you smile today?

That is a pretty gorgeous view!
Even if you realise that your car is wearing the spare (which i didn’t notice until you said).
Green Tea you say? My SO also swapped the coke (well consuming as much of it) for those Lipton Iced Tea’s. I think you’re both mad and should just drink water. Lol.

Intrigued by the switch to green tea. I have a long term adulterous affair with coke zero but may have a fling with green tea. I’ll let you know how I go. This weekend the thought of my daughter’s first ballet concert, which is merely just little girls twirling across the stage rather than any successful formal training is making me smile. And tomorrow afternoon I am writing, at my mum’s house.
Bliss.
Have a wonderful weekend xx

I’d love to have a verandah to sit on with my cuppa in the mornings. I have a cup of green tea every morning as I’m trying to cut down on how many cups of caffeinated tea I have eat day. It’s meant to be good for your immune system although with all the colds I seem to have had lately, I’m not so sure that one is true!! 🙂 And I agree, comments can really brighten you day. Enjoy your weekend xx

Here’s to life on a verandah.
Captain Valentine is partway through staining ours which is no mean feat as they wrap all around the entire upper storey of our Queenslander.
The trick is to keep the kookaburras from not ‘pooping’ on the newly stained boards whilst he is in progress!
Enjoy the weekend.

I am grateful for SawHole who writes by blog each Saturday, even though sometimes she is a nasty bitch. I am grateful for Mr Woog for taking the Woogettes Skiing for the weekend leaving me in peace. I am grateful for my BFF’s for getting on board with a tracksuit pant, thai takeaway and wine night this evening. xoxo

Look at those beautiful gum trees. We have a magnificant gum out back which I just treasure. Seeing that photo of yours & reading your post reminds me of life pre-children, when you & husband would sit out on your front inner city balcony (no bush views!)and read your weekend papers.
I am grateful for sunny winter days, blossom trees hinting that spring is fast approaching and children outside jumping on the trampoline. xxx

That is definitely a great verandah. I need to know if your green tea is iced…

Today I am thankful that the sun is out and I have the washing hanging on the line. I’m not sure if there is enough heat in the sun to dry the washing but the fresh air is good.
I used to drink a lot of green tea but I recently tried it again and the brand I bought tasted like I was drinking out of an ashtray! I might have to try that mint one.. or add a HEAP of honey.

I am grateful for green tea too. But today I am mostly grateful for a clean home, fit and healthy kids who are making the most of a fresh sunny day outside, the sun for allowing me to hang the washing outside for the first time in months, and finally for being able to have an afternoon nap.

I am very grateful for the tip about the green tea. Who would have thought! I’m grateful that I could spend a few hours this evening celebrating a dear friend’s birthday and seeing lots of love being shown to a really wonderful human being 🙂 And for the box of chocolates I won at a baby shower this afternoon…but I probably shouldn’t be grateful for that!

I’ve been sipping green tea to try to reduce my caffeine intake, but it feels like it’s missing something. I think I’ll try the mint! Thanks for the tip. 🙂
