The tree is up and sparkling. The front door is festooned with a new wreath. The Eiffel tower is glowing with fairy lights… it’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas!
I made the wreath in about 10 minutes for about $10 yesterday. A half-price plain wreath from our friends at Lincraft, a bunch of ribbons cut up and tied on each branch. A little birdy ornament from Morgan and Finch strung up in the middle. Easy peasy and I just love it.
I add something Christmassy each year. My favourite is my fat garland-toting boy angel with his nose permanently toffed. He just seems to be saying “meh, this Christmas gig, I can take it or leave it”.
Are you ready? Have you done your shopping? Can you feel December sliding away like a sled on snow?

Stacia says
I have done nothing! (Except indulge in enough treats to last me till the new year.)
I might start by making that wreath though. Lovely!
Sarah says
That Christmas wreath is beautiful!
We’re fairly organised, thank goodness as the mall is chaotic here!!
Gill@OurParklife says
i haven’t done a thing either! ha, after all my good intentions to get organised
But I am absolutely feeling inspired this morning after reading this post, one at Planning Queens and about Jess @ Life’s Little Whispers potted pine Christmas tree
I am taking hints and tips and heading to town tomorrow!
I adore your wreath – really and truly only 10 mins?!!
Gill xo
In Real Life says
I love your wreath! What a fantastic idea!
A Farmer's Wife says
I love your wreath. I think it may take me longer than 10 minutes if I tried to make it though…. I have an anticraft gene.
Jacki says
Great wreath! We’re planning on setting up the tree and decorating the house tonight!
Claire Chadwick @ Scissors Paper Rock says
Oh wow your Christmassy treasures look divine! Love your wreath & advent calender stockings! I asked my Mum {who sews a lot} to bring me all her xmas material scraps as I have a plan for a xmas wreath…but already 5 days into December though…where the heck is this month going???!!!! I’ve done most of my shopping {online…yay} and am now loving doing some basic xmas crafts with my little one.
xo
PinkPatentMaryJanes says
That wreath = divine! Love it.
Because I have a deep and all-consuming hatred of shopping I finished off almost all of mine in a solid three-hour shop. The rest were bought on-line and all I have to do is wrap – and enjoy. Hurrah!
Maree: says
I Love your Wreath it is Gorgeous…and I also Love your Little Stockings as a Advent …cute Idea..but they look Empty from here!!!
cheers
Sammie says
Now this is really freaky… I am about to post about the new wreath we bought for Christmas for our front door…
Leni and Rose says
Love your Christmasy decorations! And it sounds funny, but I absolutely love your black front door! We put up our tree this morning, it’s beginning to feel like Christmas!
Maxabella says
Nicely spotted, Maree. The little advent stockings are filled only the night before each day… the Tsunamis (the oldest and tallest one in particular) cannot be trusted with a fully loaded and accessible advent calender… x
Hi, welcome..... says
Oh wow-ee you really have got into the Christmas spirit!!! we get a real tree, so that will come soon (otherwise it looks sad by Christmas) and i’v been madly preparing for the Market that was today, so now it’s over i can relax and focus on decorating my own home!! I love your little bird – i have just made 60 very similar looking Christmas birds for a supplier order!!! phew that was a hard slog…hoping you are relaxing somewhere with a nice glass of vino xx
Naturally Carol says
I thought I was prepared but now I know I’m not. I have had a weekend with a house full of people, which I love but…miss b brought a heap of her stuff up, ‘cos she’s moving and I have to find homes for them. Now the house is disorganised and i can’t decorate when everything is like that! So..I feel the month is just slipping away and I don’t seem to be able to catch it!
Cate says
I love your advent calendar – I sadly opted for 3 store bought tinkerbell advent choc-a-day things.
I was languishing in my laziness to start xmas preparations until yesterday…now I’m inspired and back in track 🙂
Joni Llanora says
Brilliant idea with the Eiffel tower!
Me 'N My Monkeys says

Posie Patchwork says
Um, we’re waiting to pick up a tree that isn’t soaking wet & makes the house smell, so hang in there for our gorgeous tree, we have the ornaments ready to go . . . come on sunshine!! Love Posie
Amanda says
Your wreath is lovely and the Advent stockings you have hanging up look great! Our tree went up on Friday and is proving to be a bit too tempting for Grace 🙂
ejorpin says
Wow that wreath looks fantastic! 10 minutes you say? I might have to have a crack at that!
Jess says
Loving that wreath with the cute little birdie! I am inspired to whip one up myself as all the ones you see in the shops are so tacky.
Next year I will be on the search for the perfet advent calender and I love yours! Izzy will be just the right age next chrissie, right now I think (know) she would insist on eating all the treats at once! xx
Miss Kitty-Cat says
I did heaps of Christmas cooking today – 300+ biscuits for gifts! Some might call me insane… But I actually feel like it’s Christmas now!
Tenille says
Love that wreath, it’s gorgeous, you’re very clever.
I think I’m organised; at a bit of a loss when it comes to gifts for a few people, but just about there. We don’t have the tree up yet, but that’s mainly because we’re yet to figure out where we can put it so that it’s out of Lilly’s reach.
muminsearch.com says
That’s a lot of socks… Do you (I mean Santa) have to fill them all with presents?
Maxabella says
Yep, we fill the little socky things. The Tsunamis take it in turns to get a little gift each day. This year there are Party Animals (don’t ask, you will hate them) and sweeties. x
Spin Spin says
Great! And the stockings look fab, bet the kids love the gifts inside 🙂
_vTg_ says
Love the ongoing bird theme- your blog-reading visitors must enjoy the synergy! As for the “socks”- they are great!! Hadn’t realised what an installation you were describing!!
Am being nagged by Big Bro to decorate, so once we have a tree I guess we’d better. This time last year we were overseas so Christmas preps seem very cruisy this year!!
Catherine says
I love your pretty bits of Christmas. Those sweet little advent stockings are just gorgeous.
As for being organised, well maybe in my head but not in reality:) Have a great week mine will be filled with lots of shopping!;)
Rachel says

Christie - Childhood 101 says
Our tree went up today, complete with clusters of decorations at toddler level, as opposed to the nicely spread and balanced decorations of the upper branches – and I love it just the way it is 🙂
Love your wreath!
Being Me says
Love that wreath, thanks for some new ideas (mine is a plastic boring one that needs some va-va-vooming!). Our tree is up and it looks superb this year, even the hubby says so (he’s not a big tree person… weirdo!).
Buttons by Lou Lou says
Your wreath does look fantastic. Brilliant work! Love the advent calendar too. Very much like Christmas!
m.e (Cathie) says
it’s beginning to look alot like Christmas at Chez Maxabellas.

This year we’ve learned our lesson. Hurray

Feeling the pre-Christmas stress, love and creativity atm. Thanks for the lovely Chrissy inspiration. Love the handmade wreath and price tag for materials.
Katie says
Love your wreath. And the advent calendar string of little stockings. 10 minutes is fantastic! I’ve just finished a home made wreath, but it took me ages to make and gave me nothing but grief for a long time… your’s is sweet and lovely x.
Little Ted Canvas says
Look at your front door wreath, I love it! That angel is really sweet, too. It’s all about the lights for me this year, love your eiffel tower..

hmmm – think we might be need ing a wreath!
A Country Wife says
Wow, I’m loving your crafty creations! A wreath in 10 minutes? I bow down to you, it would take me a whole day!
I’m really getting into the christmas spirit this year. For the first time ever presents are purchased and most are wrapped with weeks to spare.
Next on my list is a day of painting, gluing and glittering christmas ornaments with my little man. I can’t wait to get decorating!
Red Red Completely Red says
I love your little linen stockings as an advent calendar. Did you make them, too? Beautiful!
