Hot weather, plants drooping, cicadas rattling. A lull descends.
I’m off work for two weeks. Last week of school holidays, first week back at school. Cappers is soon to be a Kinder Kid! She is champing at the bit to get in there and give this school thing a go. Maxi is schlepping about the place, terrified to go back there because he’s been told he will have to ‘work’ in first grade. Not even ‘work hard’, just ‘work’. The threat of actual effort is enough to send him into his own kind of lull.
But I’m going to enjoy this time with my darling, crazy, needy, loving Tsunamis, oh yes I am!
This week I’m grateful for…
1. Our pool – I never thought I would come to love that great big water-sucking, algae-growing time-and-money-pit that came with the house. But when I see the Tsunamis leaping joyfully off the edge and swimming for hours like healthy, happy kids should… sheesh, yeah, I love it.
2. Bloggy friends – we meet so many fabulous people on these blogs of ours. It amazes me, then, that there are some people that you just ‘click’ with and you become firm friends even though you’ve apparently never met ‘in real life’. Sorry, um… this is our ‘real’ life, isn’t it? Or do I have another life somewhere that I’m unaware of? Spooky.
3. Our camera – Imagine not having 10000 images of our children on file!
[Image is of Cappers… look at me, Mum!]
So, what’s making you smile today? Grab my I’m grateful for… button from my sidebar if you like, add your I’m Grateful For post below and please add a link back to me in your post. Then pop over to visit other bloggers who are spreading a little sunshine. Happy day to you!

what on earth would we do without 1000’s of pics of the kids..no really!
Bloggy friends..awesome!
also grateful for you grateful posts, happy weekend lovely.
I hope to be back with a post, I am heading to target in the morning for school uniform..arghhh, you have your kinder kid & I have my little prepy!
♥
Ahhhaha, we ARE blogging twins. Just drafted my grateful pst. About swimming pools. Hahaha! xxx
Enjoy your 2 weeks off with your family. And what’s that you say, 10,000 images? Holy pistols Batman!
Wow, that’s a lot of images. I’m down about 1000 thanks to a burglar stealing my laptop with some snaps not backed up. With 4 children & my obsession to not ONLY have photos of twins together, but together & apart, plus making everyone equal, well thank goodness for digital external harddrives!! Have yourself a gorgeous weekend, i have pool envy, but we’ll have one soon enough, the joy they bring is priceless (like pool expenses!!) Love Posie
I just wanted to say..i absolutely love reading your blog. I love popping in..always something to make me think! Thank you x
With the weather we have been experiencing of late I am oh so grateful for living so close to the sea.
Can definitely relate to the 1,000’s of photos.
Enjoy your break
x
Sounds like a perfect holiday. Alas, my camera is currently broken. Don’t quite know how I’ve managed to go 10 days without taking a photo of Miss A, actually, I don’t know how she’s managed to not pose for that long! π
I like to think that IRL I have lovely blogging friends. The fact that I haven’t met them face to face is irrelevant to me. x

Hon – I’m finally joining in! Love ya work.
Agree totally about bloggy friends. So happy to have met you – and soon, we should do that meet up we talk about! xxx
I had pool envy too. Until I read your description. Hadn’t thought of it that way…water sucking, algae growing, time and money pit. My husband will be eternally grateful to you now as I’ll stop whinging about not having a pool!! Happy weekend to you : )
Alison
soooo jealous… I wish our pool was in use right now… instead we swim in mountains of snow …
as for photos of our kids… my husband had to buy a back up driver for my laptop I have taken so many lol
Hi there, this is my first time joinging in. I’m soo grateful for the pool too, you’re right it comes at a cost but seriously wares the kids out at the end of the day so that has to be good right.
Love all of your “gratefuls” this week….but the pool one has me absolutely shivering. (Can you imagine, it’s -3 outside right now. That’s NEGATVIE 3!!!) Oh, how I wish it was warm enough for a swim!!!
Have a great weekend, dear!
I needed some positive thought after this crazy week. Thanks. I’m thankful for finally having healthy kids!
Blog friends are such a nice bonus to this whole thing :).
Oooooh, your pool … I’m grateful for your description of it! It’s keeping me warm! (We’ve got freezing temperatures today and are all bundled up.)
Enjoy your vacation, bloggy friend!
enjoy π
I just want to pop on my bathers and go find a pool – looks delicious! x
Oh I am soooo jealous of your pool!! We had one as a child and I *lived* in it!
And what do you mean you only have 10000 images of your children?? What have you been doing with your time? π
have a great weekend
xxxCate
love that pool piccie!! & yes so grateful for bloggy friends XO
Oh, a pool. So much to be thankful for. And glad you’re using it. My husband says that a pool in Melbourne is just a waste (and I suspect he is right). Thank you for your gratefuls and I hope you enjoy your babies this week. I too, am thankful for bloggy friends. They’re awesome! (oh, you’re one of them!) xx
Great list this week hun, I found myself nodding thinking “yep me too”
Hope you enjoy your time off. We’ve got almost another month of holidays yet :S
Oh yes, a pool would be good, but then again, so would the sun!!
It looks like our kids are the same age. My daughter has told me six times this week how boring daycare was – she can’t wait to get to kindy. As for my son, I’m trying to talk up grade one – he couldn’t care less.
So grateful for pools too! Hope you have a fab holiday π
Yes a pool is a wonderful thing and so are blogging friends. Back from hols and catching up on all my favourite blogs before I start blogging on Monday. Charmaine
A wonderful grateful list Mrs!
Have a wonderful holiday. X
It’s funny … when we had a pool I disliked it for the very reasons you list in your post. But now I miss it – for the very reasons you describe in your post! Loving the gratefuls. xo
Swimming pools seem to be popular this week π
