Oh, okay, fair enough – ‘girl’ is probably stretching things a little. But ‘a woman, a journey’ sounded way too important for my little lark down south.
Daylesford is a wonderful place to visit, no doubt about it. It’s like being tucked in all safe and warm by an elegant, artistic mother after a busy day wandering and wondering. It just oozes relaxation and reflection and contemplation.
Or perhaps that was just because I was travelling alone?
Regardless, I felt a little reborn by the end of my stay there. That town has such a creative, welcoming spirit – a spirit truly embodied by Allison at Lark.
I instantly adored her – a wonderfully generous, smart and funny soul. I could have stood drinking tea and nattering away in her cheerful store all afternoon.
Not to mention that I could have purchased her entire product range whilst nattering, every single piece is just so desirable and ownable. I do have a problem with needing to buy things just to know they are there… some things just make a girl (!) happy.
Luckily the lightness of my mood as I left Allison was not matched by a lightness of pocket. I managed to restrain myself nicely, however I should confess that I have long been an online Lark shopper and I was busy creating a list for future purchases.
There is no escape.

Ah, the post I’ve been waiting for. You sound so rested and energised, Bron. I’m so delighted for you. Meeting Allison would have been a treat. As for online stores, Etsy is dangerously addictive. J x

Oh!! How gorgeous is her store!! Did you buy enough of those scrabble cushions to spell Maxabella??
I’m not much of an onlione shopper to be honest – I like to see what I’m getting and take it home with me straight away 🙂
So glad you had such a lovely break!

What a lovely trip, i agree, why not refer to yourself as a girl, woman is a bit menopausal i think?? Way to grown up, my blog bi line is “the blog about the girl . . .” as you know what, i can damn well call myself what i want. Love Posie

Super gorgeous shop!
I have no idea how old you need to be before you become a woman rather than a girl…but I claim to still be a girl.

Lark is lovely, and Daylesford is perfect – beautiful food and people. I do a lot of shopping online – the Book Depository is a favourite and offers free international shipping – woo hoo!

There is a good thing about being a mother to only boys.
It is such a girls world out there. At least what I seem to be drawn to, and so I can lust and drool lots and know that I cannot really buy most things I love because I have boys.
I am guilty of sometimes just buying them anyway though…

Hi Maxabella..I’ve done my fair share of online shopping over the past year. I started off with Ozsale..MOR products for ridiculous prices..swoon, have purchased a few things now from ‘madeit’ and ‘etsy’ and i’m determined to have a ‘curly pops’ flower brooch very soon!

I fear from your photos that Lark could be very unhealthy for my bank account…. I know already I would want everything in there. What was on your ‘must buy’ list?

Hope that advice was a Sydney store!

Unfortunately, I don’t know my favorite online seller personally….I have too many favorites anyway haha xD though most of them are Etsians. And I still don’t know them lol

I love Lark and bought some lovely prints for my daugher’s room there last year. The Belle and Boo series. They have such pretty things. I’m not a huge online shopper, but more a researcher, then I try to find the stuff somewhere I can touch and feel it. I’m a bit old fashioned that way!

I absolutely love Daylesford! I went with hubs on our babymoon before Bliss was born but got gastro and ended up in the local hospital 36wks preggo and feeling terrible. Can’t wait for a chance to get back for another visit (sans kids) and soak it all up, hopefully avoiding a repeat visit to the hospital!
