My littlest girl turned four today.
Four is big.
Well, the Badoo informs me that it is. God help me, I purchased Barbie make up, but that’s what she really, really wanted and I’ll only let it out to play every now and then. She suggested she might also be old enough to wear ‘booby bras’ now and ‘high heels and go to the shops with my boyfriend’.
Ah, that Badoo is growing up so very fast. Four may not be quite big enough yet (!), but it’s certainly very gorgeous. I think four is one of my favourite ages. Children are so full of beans and love at four and less full of themselves. Four is energy, four is curious, four is questions about questions.
Happy birthday, darling girl. You’re four and your big, but luckily not big enough yet.
How old are your children?
What’s been your favourite age so far?
Bri says
Happy Birthday Badoo! You rock girlfriend!
My kids are Mr14 (nearly 15) and Miss5.
Favorite ages… not sure. They all have their pros and cons!
Elisa {with grace and eve} says
So gorgeous!! Love the images! Four sounds like a fun age! My biggest little miss is 2.5 and full of attitude and character, and already wants and wears my high heels! Not sure where the fascination came from I barely wear them these days! x
Kelly Exeter says
Oh she is beyond sweetness! Happy Birthday to the Badoo!

Happy birthday sweet Badoo. I think every age is my favourite age (or so I’ve said every year up until 12 – let’s hope it continues).

Happy Happy to your little little (and those adorable chubby baby fingers give her away – she’s not that big… yet!!). Four sounds like fun! Sixteen months is the pits – molars – ugh! But I don’t want to wish a single one of her days away… xx
Cat says
Oh happy birthday Miss Badoo. Love those photos! My biggest little man will be 4 in September & my littlest little man is 8 months next week. I love the ages of both of them just as much as I’m sure they are both trying to kill me! π xxx
Melissa Jane says
I agree that 4 is a fun age. So much better than the Traumatic Three that I experienced twice. Love those razzle, dazzle shoes!

Happy Birthday from Aunty Coo! x
Mama of 2 boys says
Four IS fabulous, I agree… and your Badoo looks every bit the fab four year old. Just gorgeous! Happy Birthday to your baby girl.
Catherine says
Happy birthday to your very happy little badoo!!! I think 4 is a lovely age, still full of curiosity and innocence and they just love to play. My big girl is 12 almost 13, wow and my other little miss poppet is 8, not enjoying 8 much this week I have to say:) xx
Coal Valley View says
Happy Birthday sweet Badoo!! I agree 4 is a gorgeous age. Mine are 3,3,6 and 7 and I really love from 3 onwards. I love babies too but find 12-24 months just plain exhausting. Mel x
Mrs Woog says
I always said that 4 was the new two. Glad to be proven wrong xx
Cal says
You have a real girly girl in your hands! Cute!
Kate Sins says
Happy, happy birthday Miss big-4! What fabulous, sparkly shoes to be 4 in.
My boys are 16 months & 3.5 years. I love 14-22 months for sweetness and 3 years for crazy conversations. Mr 3 is hilarious!
Denwise aka Denyse Whelan says
HB to miss 4! With our grandson who’s 4 it’s just an exciting time of him learning more about everything! He’s been coming to us a few days each week since he was tiny so he’s my good news 4 year old example.
Ok.. I “have” to ask with my principals hat on.. School in 2013 or waiting till 2014. Hard decision? Easy? Not always wrong to start a bright & ready child who’ll be 5 halfway through Kinder. Love D
Kasha says
Happy, sweet 4th bday to your so adorable little miss:) She is really a sweatheart with her nail-polished nails and oh,so cute, girlie shoes:D She is the true embodiment of a girli girl loving the pink color- my dream for having a daughter too!
Aubrey S. says
Happy Birthday to your baby girl! Four IS big, but luckily not so big.
I don’t have children, but I remember my niece at that age. So fun. She’s twice that age now and truly getting big. I don’t want her to ever grow up.
Andrea says
…..and I thought 12 weeks was big….;)
Miriam says
I have 3.5 and 6 and I love both the ages so much. I love the sweet, happy approach to life my kids have at these ages. How quickly they drop a grump or disppointment and how easy it is to make them laugh. When my biggest was about 3 or 4 he came into our room with my bra one day and said, ‘Mum here is your cover-bosom’ clearly boys don’t pick up the undie jargon as fast!
Rebecca Grey says
Happy Birthday Badoo! How sweet. Our littlest one Miss E, shares the same birthday with your littlest. 6.6.2008. Special date and hopefully a special age (3 wasn’t so good lol) xx

I have a 3 yr old cheeky chops
A 4yr old question after question asker
and a 7 year old who loves cuddles
and all are wonderful in their own way!
Kate says
I enjoy all your posts, but especially this one, just lovely. π
Super Ordinary Mum says
What a beautiful post – and your “big” girl is just BEAUTIFUL too! Hang on to these moments with her – my Miss 4 (in March) is 4 going on 16 too, and I don’t want her to get any bigger at all…. Oh, and I totally understand about the makeup. If you really want to make her feel grown up Kmart do nail polishes in a 3 pack (purple, organge and pink) that they can “apply” themselves and they just wash off in water. Smiles…. Sooz
Leisa says
My kiddos are 25, 22, 21 and 16. Not so much kiddos anymore, nor do I feel old enough to have grown up kids! (which is a GOOD THING! – I became a Mum 8 days after I turned 20)
My favorite age? I don’t know. I’ve loved them all. There are pros and cons to all ages. I loved the discovery, innocence and wonder of babyhood & childhood. I loved being able to have more grown up, searching conversations in their teens, I love the “equality” of the adult relationship I have with them now. (whilst still being Mama at the same time!)
But 4 is gorgeous and so is your adorable Badoo!
Photographer Mum says
Happy Birthday Badoo! Love the skirt – I have just bought one for my photography prop box and can’t wait to use it (My Miss 5 has her eye on it).
Not sure what my favourite age has been. Probably the first 12 months – where they can’t answer back and they are just adorable little people.
Mum on the Run says
Four is soooooo bigger – just ask Magoo(3).
I hope you all had a beautiful day celebrating your gorgeous girl.
π xx
Miss Mandy says
Happy Birthday to your gorgeous girl. I have to say isn’t their best age ‘right now’ that moment. It’s so fresh in your memory.
Mine are 2, 4, 6. They’re all got their qualities but there is definitely something to be said for being past nappies, being able to hold a conversation and a little independence.
Lisa @ Home/Work/Mum says
Happy Birthday gorgeous girl! Bella has just turned 9, but is still my baby. I did so love 3 and 4.
Menina rosa says
How beautiful! If you’re in love with four years of it, wait until they turn 16 … my daughter is 16! Congratulations! : D
Andrea @ little buckles says
Happy birthday gorgeous tutu wearing girl! Xxx
Brenda @ Mira Narnie says
Wahhhhhhhh! Happy Birthday to the BIG FOUR YEAR OLD! I’ll have one of those too in a few months…i can’t wait. There is something quite horrid about 3 and I think 4 is just a lovely age….you are right. they are growing up and are just so fascinated by life! The Badoo looks adorable in all her 4 year old glory. My son turns 6 tomorrow, so I’m focusing on that….then two months later my daughter turns 4. their not babies anymore….how did that happen?
Tas says
My baby just turned 5 and is a mix between sponataneous outbursts of love with spontaneous outbursts of complete and utter self-absorption.
I like this age but am scared of the school thing that starts next term. From what I can tell, girls can change overnight when they start school.
I love the 1-2 years of age when the littlies are learning to talk and communicate. It is a joy to watch and lots of fun.
Rhonda says
she is just the cutest thing ever!
Sannah says
Happy Birthday Badoo!
I like a lot of the ages, just not everything about them π
7 for boys is just beautiful.
3 for my little girl is much better than 2. I’m loving a lot about 3, but sounds like I have a lot to look forward too with 4.
Beautiful pics by the way xx
Kymmie says
Happy Birthday gorgeous girl. Oh my, she is just adorable Bron! I love every single stunning photo in this post. All that happiness and sunshine. She certainly has your amazing personality. Full of beans, a brain busier than a tin or worms and energy! (Oh, the energy!)
I love four and a half. Boys are feral from 3 1/2 to 4/12. But then they’re just scrummy. Forget the Terrible Twos, it’s the F*cking Fours! xx
Vicky says
Happy birthday to your beautiful girl, and happy birthing day to you Bron.
I have a 16yo girl, nearly 14yo boy, and 5.5 yo boy. Life is never dull having a foot in two camps…
favourite age(s)… Quite enjoying 16, and 5… 13 to 15 is particularly revolting. Just as my daughter is coming out the other side of it, son no.1 is entering. Thank god I will have a 5 year break before son no.2 enters. I’m gonna need it!
Seana Smith says
That was 14 wasn’t it? Just four, really!!
Most favourite age… inside the tummy, so easy to care for!! Teens are very interesting, so very poised on the brink of the Big Wide World… yet not.
Kate says
With my first and second we called them the fucken fours.
And they were.
This time around tho it is divine.
Maybe she’s different or maybe I am.
But I’m a loving it.
A little bit bigger but enough small still.
Happy borthday to yours. x
Tahnee says
yes, four is questions and questions…!! but you are right, it is a lovely age, my daughter is four (our eldest) and the personality that keeps appearing, the assertion of who she is and why she likes the things she likes.. as much as it stretches my parenting skills at times, I do love it so. happy belated birthday wishes, badoo! x
Simoney says
Oh wow, she looks just like her mama!!!!
(and hey, you made your own bokeh)
xx
