Who knows where this scrumdiliumptious vegetable patch came from? It was pinned by some chick called Anne Hamilton who we are all unlikely to ever know, who pinned it from a blog called Gorgeous Shiny Things, who got it from Heather Bullard’s facebook page (means nothing to me either), who may or may not be the photographer and stylist of this gorgeous garden as I can’t find it on her blog anywhere.
Which brings me to two points:
1. Oh dear, this Pinterest business swims in scary waters for copyright and ownership and, indeed, ethics. I like to bury my head in the sand crying “but look at the pretty picture!”, but I do worry.
2. When pinning, I always (well, most always) try to pin from the original source, the original author. If you pin from the original blog, be sure to click into the actual post that the image is on so that it will correctly source back to the image itself, not just the blog. If you find someone else’s work on another blog, try to click through to the real someone and pin from there. It’s only fair.
But, oh, look at the pretty garden. If this isn’t inspirational to get our hands dirty and our compost turning, I don’t know what is. I just want to get out there and get those veggies humming. I’ve got a whole board devoted to Outdoor Loving and love the outdoors I do. My garden makes me happy.
