Our little Badoo clomped off to school today in her big shoes and her enormous hat and her even bigger bag.
She has never wavered in her determination to get to big school as soon as possible. So she is young, certainly one of the youngest. I used to think that I would never send my child to school as one of the youngest in the grade, but I’ve come to realise that you can’t make a decision based on ‘what if’, you can only make a decision based on ‘what now’. What’s right in front of you at the time, your own child making your choice seem easy until you start to wonder what the future may hold. And yet…
We can’t wonder at the expense of wonder… that’s what I think now.
As they tromped into the playground, big brother and sister two sentinels against her smallness, I knew we were making the right choice for her. That she had really made the right choice for herself.
It is done.
Uh oh.
What age were your kids when they started school?
