I blogged three times this week. It’s a miracle! Did you meet Toula? Her hair is a miracle. And getting Cappers to the concert on time in the heavy rain and pouring traffic was also, you bet, a miracle.
Must have been a good week!
This week Problogger’s “Ultimate guide to leaving comments on blogs” has got me thinking all about comments. See, for me comments are the blue meth of blogging. My big mouth loves leaving them and my big ego loves getting them. Comments are blogging’s currency and I like think I’m rich beyond (and because of) words.
I rarely check my stats, but I hover over comments like a hummingbird over a trumpet vine. To me, comments become part of my writing, expanding my thinking and adding the forgotten seasoning.
I know I never ‘respond’ to comments on my blog, but only because unless you’ve got a commenting system that can let a commenter know they’ve received a reply, it’s all a bit for naught, don’t you think? Am I wrong? Should I be responding? Do you feel unheard?
Thing is, I’ve been meaning to install Disqus on this here blog for almost 2 years now… how’s that for world-class procrastination? I’m hoping that outing myself like that will mean I take steps to install Disqus immediately. Let’s see what happens…
Thanks for linking up with us this week, here’s just three of my favourites from last week: Stephanie’s moving story about adopting her son – “the most marvellous way to love”; take a trip to the Marie-Louise Salon with Astrid – “rollers stacked in trays waiting for the next customer”; and Lani got married!– “the whole ceremony was so full of children, it was a bit like getting married in a zoo.”
