Do you struggle with providing healthy snacks for the kidlets? It’s one area where I’m often baffled by the whole food thing. Unless you manage to bake from scratch weekly, it’s hard to give them snacks that interest them that aren’t pre-packaged ‘healthy’ crap, it really is. Especially when they are ravenous after school.
These ‘apple slice cookies’ by Rachel Schultz are fabulous, aren’t they? It’s taking fruit where fruit has never been before. I made a batch for the hungry hippos yesterday and they hoovered them up and begged for more. I didn’t even add the chocolate chips… repeat, no chocolate required. There was quite enough chocolate doing the rounds yesterday without adding more.
