I baited a hook. I stuck that little long-dead white bait right on there like a pro. It flung straight off the hook when the line was cast. I’m sure it was the bait, not the baiting. Sure of it.
Is it wrong that I love getting away from my real life so much? I love being on holidays down the coast, perched gleefully in our little apartment overlooking the bay. Staying for not long enough to sink in, we glide over the surface of things, trying not to leave a mark. Actually, we’ve already busted the screen door to the balcony, the back door lock and the clothes line. So, I rephrase – leaving marks, but hopefully not on the psyche.
It’s a holiday from stuff, is what it is. Glorious turquoise waters and weather, both fit for a holiday brochure; the fish and chip dinners, the lazy lunches, the book reading, the bike riding. These all do their bit, but it’s the lack of stuff that makes a holiday. Just what you brought with you and even then half of it goes unused. I love it here.
Food for thought over the hols from last week’s reading list:
I liked this place too.
I’ve honestly never given why I blog much thought except to say that I like it.
Malteser and Mars Bar Slice. I think that’s self-explanatory.
Sonia Style has a fabbo giveaway happening over on her Weekend Rewind post. Pop on over and say hi and maybe win something. My favourite kind of hi.
Hi to Sonia Life too. She’s been going through a rough time of it with her beloved parents and I’ve been thinking of her.
Two Sonias and a Maxabella. I love it here too.
