Forget icing fiddly little gingerbread walls this year and make the kids this absolutely delicious looking gingerbread cubby house instead. This is all the work of Valerie from Inner Child Fun – one of those uber fun mom bloggers who make us all feel like having a Bex and lie down.
Check out some of Valerie’s other posts:
- Paper bag houses
- Make a water fight kit! (exclamation mark Valerie’s own – I feel like it must have been one hell of a fight…)
- Painting en plein air with kids (French Valeries own – she may or may not be French, I’m not certain)
Just quietly, there’s a lot of information on this site about “homeschooling with toddlers” which I don’t get at all… I mean, do toddlers even go to a non-home school? But whatever, back to gingerbread!
Visit Inner Child Fun to see how Valerie made the gingerbread cubby (I want one! I have no idea where to put one! But I want one!) or click on the image above to repin the pin!
Do you make a gingerbread house / castle at Christmas time?

Haha cool idea! I could handle that! Actual gingerbread houses? Not so much!

I’m not a big fan of gingerbread myself… not of any ‘spice’ cake, really! x

Just in case you really wanted to know;) Background for Homeschooling with toddlers can stem from a few reasons 1) Mama is so keen to ‘get started’ so away we go. 2) enrichment for child 3)keep child busy and out of everyone else’s hair.
Me, over the years I’ve fallen into all three categories, now my homeschooling with toddler/pre-schooler falls into another whole category, ‘let’s read a book and then off you go and explore the wide world (ie go and play;) Gotta be realistic these days. Funny thing is my younger children are ‘brighter’ in some areas than my olders who had all that enrichment.
which thought brings me to this article I read yesterday about older mothers (cause I just always go off on tangents with you:;) about our children having fewer behavioural problems, I could add more to that article

Well, I figured it must be a flashcard-mumma kinda thing, Erin… poor toddlers (no offense to you and your older kids BTW). That article was very interesting. They didn’t mention that they corrected for socio-eco differences and I often wonder if that skews these kinds of studies – many ‘older mothers’ are from conscientious ‘career’ kind of backgrounds. Or maybe that’s just me saying that. x

Yes, hsing mamas like all mamas come ‘in all shapes and sizes’. Hence diff approaches. Pondering point, yes most older mamas have prob focused on a career first, except for the ones like me that is;) lol
