We’re back home today after two weeks of retro-fun down the coast where I grew up. Every time we’re down there I have the same thought, “I wonder if I’ll ever live here again?”
Maybe I could live here:
Or here:
This would be my view from the top balcony:
It’s impossible not to be happy at Hermit Beach (has hermit crabs… my kids are very literal namers).
How’s your summer so far?
Kelly Exeter says
Yeah I could live in that blue house. I’m a total sucker for weatherboard cladding! Welcome back!
Maxabella says
Me too! I’d love a weatherboard home. Grew up in one. I have a fear of cement rendered brick (although painted brick is rather lovely – I think I just like texture). x
Mrs Woog says
How beautiful is Hyams Beach! We spent years holidaying there. Bliss xx
Maxabella says
I know you’re all about heading North these days, but South definitely has my heart. x
Debs says
Gorgeous pics. I’m pretty jealous. I’m not sure I even feel like I am on holidays as we haven’t gone away at all this time. There’s just something about a beach break. My favourite type of break for sure. Hoping to get down to Phillip Island for a weekend before we have to go back to school. That will have to do. xo
Maxabella says
Phillip Island will always do!! x
Lila says
I could definitely live there, how nice would it be to hang out on that balcony with a cup of tea and a book!
Maxabella says
Perfection! I love an upstairs verandah and one with a view – heaven! x
Helen K says
They look lovely – I’m sure we could live in either place! (and south of Sydney – is it called the Sapphire Coast – is on the list of places to go with the family one of these holidays in 2015). Looks glorious! Hanging out for our beach week (hopefully – subject to Vic weather) next week x
Maxabella says
The Sapphire Coast is beautiful, Helen. That’s Merrimbula, isn’t it? x
Helen K says
I think so – I would like to go as far as Berry and the coast, so maybe that’s got a different name?
Maxabella says
That’s the Shoalhaven – where I grew up! x
KezUnprepared says
I love those photos. You really captured what childhood summers are all about. I love sharing my own memories with the Little Mister on our annual camping trips – the nostalgia! 🙂
Maxabella says
What is it about summer that is so nostalgic, Kez? Every year it just feels so whimsical without even trying. Is it the bare feet? The simple living? x
Mother Down Under says
Whenever I am on holiday I like to pick out a house I would live in if that were my permanent home…I love the ones you have picked!
Maxabella says
I do it when I’m going for a walk! It’s habit – when we were kids my younger sister and I would be in the back of the car on our long summer drives going “nice, yucky, nice, nice, nice, yucky” at the houses we passed… the criteria was “would I live there?” Of course, it never entered our mind that all of the houses we were selecting from where on the highway… 🙂 x
ally says
We are currently soaking up holiday good times where I used to holiday…and we think (as we do every year)…could we live here??
It’s nice to dream
Xx
Maxabella says
Could we? Could we, could we, could we? Enjoy your holidaze! x
Kylie Purtell - A Study in Contradictions says
I could totally live there! Looks like you had a great time.
We are in the process of planning our trip to Port Stephens in March and I can’t wait! We didn’t get a chance to go last year, first year we have missed since 2011. We are going with all of my family which makes it even better as we get to hang out without the pressure of normal life and I have some extra hands around to help with the girls!
Maxabella says
I love your family tradition of all getting together somewhere each year, Kylie A March break is a great idea too – gives you something to aim for right after summer! x
Sammie @ The Annoyed Thyroid says
Welcome home! I loved looking at your pictures and the little movie – so many marvellous memories. We haven’t had a holiday this summer but I sure enjoyed looking at yours!
Maxabella says
Thanks Sammie. The video was SUPER easy to do using the Magisto app. Thought I’d have a little fun and I love it. x
Bec @ The Plumbette says
I love your photos Bron. I sometimes look at the real estate windows to see what properties are on sale in the area we are holidaying. Of course never in our price range but still nice to dream. Welcome home. Xx
Maxabella says
Real estates are the best window shopping of all. Gotta have a dream, right? x
Vicki @ Knocked Up and Abroad says
Oh it all looks so sunny and fun! What a gorgeous time you’ve had! I’d be content with either of those houses!
Maxabella says
It was actually cloudy or raining 50% of the week, but that never stops us from enjoying the beach down there. It’s lovely in any kind of weather. x
Kate says
If you move to Hermit beach I might have to come too.
Looks like heaven. xx
Maxabella says
Next door neighbours! Blue or white? x
Kate says
I’ll take the blue, I ‘m no good with whites. xx
Trudie says
Welcome back lovely gorgeous shots and dreamy homes.
Maxabella says
Dreamy is the word – in my dreams! x
Renee Wilson says

Maxabella says
It really is perfection, Bron. The most beautiful place to be. x
Corinne says
I’ve always dreamt of living on the south coast, it’s a little slice of heaven. x
Maxabella says
Indeed it is… Jervis Bay has got to be one of the world’s loveliest spots for families (or anyone!). x

Sonia Life Love Hiccups says
This gorgeous pics just scream summer and I could quite happily live in either of those houses too xx
Holly says
Bring back summer here! I am done with winter!
Maxabella says
It’s just a matter of time, Holly and then I’ll be sighing over your summertime pics while winter lingers for me!! x
Lisa@RandomActsOfZen says
So beautifully summery, Bron. We’ve had a lovely relaxing holiday, and absolutely soaked up every minute of beachtime while we were away.
Your Lottie is the epitome of happiness!

Malinda @mybrownpaperpackages says
These are great holiday snaps, really seem to capture the essence of all the good stuff. And yeah, twist my arm, I could live there.
Valent Lau says
Live there? Yeah, wow a beachfront mansion. Only in my wildest dreams.
Kirralee @ Escape With Kids says
Oh there’s so much joy in those photos of your kids. Breathtakingly beautiful! We just have to get down there soon.
