Instead of screens today… why not bake some biscuits?
Kids love baking and I get that baking with them is often not the most fun a mum ever had, but the mess and the angst is worth it, I promise.
If your kids are younger, give them some little jobs to do while you get on with baking the bickies. They’ll love having their own bowl filled with flour to fluff and ooze their hands through (outside is generally a good idea for this bit). While you’re at it, you should try fluffing the flour yourself as it feels amazing. Anyway, let them put together their own mini bowl of biscuit batter and put it in the oven for them alongside your own batch. No harm done, it’s all edible!
If your kids are midling, they might be ready to bake their own biscuits, but you may still have to do the measuring for them.
If your kids are older, go through the recipe with them, help them find the ingredients (and measure if necessary) and leave them to it. They can let you know when their biscuits are ready to go into the oven.
