Is it Monday? Because it feels like I haven’t actually achieved a thing this week, and yet I’ve been so busy that it’s flown by. Here we are, Friday evening* and I’m still thinking about how to plan my week. Ah, some weeks we just don’t it, right?
* When does ‘evening’ start? Right now it’s 5:26 pm and I say evening, but my friend Aidy (who is here, looking over my shoulder) says, “you can’t write that, it’s only late afternoon”. Hmmmm.
So, I’m pouring you a glass of Pimms with Ginger Ale and Lemonade (it’s a thing, and I like it very much) and here’s what I’m chatting to you about this week:
I’m loving: the fact that the Badoo went to school camp this week and MADE IT! After months of tears, and emotional meltdowns, and I can’ts and aborted sleepover attempts (2 am collection runs, anyone, anyone?) – she DID IT. Can you tell how proud I am of her? I am overjoyed for her. And a little bit guilty too because when she said, “I wasn’t even scared” my first reaction was to be pissed off because I didn’t sleep a bloody wink last night with the worrying.
I’m enjoying: The latest issue of Lunch Lady. I’ve given up most of my other magazines, but I recently subscribed again to this one.
I’m watching: Still on Outlander. Although I have been shaken to the core to realise what a ham of an actor Sam Heughen actually is. I think I was momentarily distracted by his jawline and didn’t notice it until episode 13. Now I realise his Scottish accent wasn’t the reason I couldn’t understand a word he oinked. I’m still watching though. I love it.
I’m eating: I made some sugar-free chocolate bliss balls that are to-die. They make me laugh and laugh because, honestly, sugar free? They are loaded with dates, sultanas and even a bit of honey. Bwahahahaaha.
I’m reading: Just about to (finally) delve into A Little Life by Hanya Yanagihara. In I go.
I’m making: a spectacle of myself, getting teary all over the school because Max’s year group is moving on. I am sad because I know that there are kids there who I have watched grow from 4/5 year olds to the pre-teens they are today and I may never see what happens next.
I’m discovering: more about the Internet of Things (IoT) and it’s fascinating.
I’m changing: my non-social ways. I was out every week this week and I feel tired, but elated. SUCH good fun. The WIM night on Wednesday night was especially uplifting. Tracey Spicer is marvellous. Watch this.
I’m listening to: Things of Stone and Wood. Amy put me back onto them when she wished Helen a happy birthday this week (happy birthday, Helen!). Along with You Am I, they are the sound of my uni daze.
I’m planning: Christmas!
I’m looking forward to: doing nothing – NOTHING – tonight.*
* Aidy says, “let’s go get drunk then.”
What’s been happening at your place lately?

The best way to drink Pimm’s (add some mint leaves to tha mix, trust me ).
I’ve had a surprisingly productive week and still don’t feel like I’m closer to inner peace. It must be December already

OMG- last night I got up to the second last episode of the first season. I cannot unsee. So confronting!!!!

I’m onto my second subscription to Lunch Kady too. I’ve cooked so many recipes from them & laughed at so many of the stories! It is, by far, my favourite magazine of all.

Kate is a champion.

Loving these posts. Is evening and late afternoon different when there is daylight savings involved?
Maxabella says
Maybe! I always think of afternoon as until about 5pm, when evening kicks in!

Oh I love this. Could totally sit for a chat and have a little sip. Life is chaotic with kids, but we all need a good debrief, good times and a good cuddle with the bubs. Glad camp went off well.
Maxabella says
I crave a debrief each and every week. It is a must.

Hahaha, happy to oblige with musical flashbacks! And yes, Heughan is a ham but what a hottie! LOL
