It’s no surprise that I’m desperate to improve my photography skills without having to actually learn anything new. Well, that’s kinda how it feels. I want to be good, but the idea of doing a course just leaves me a bit shell-shocked right now. It needs to get in line behind the Photoshop course, the screen printing course and the daily needs of a family of small people, of course.
Enter, the internet. Little hints and tips have helped me no end. I mean, I still totally suck at taking photos, but I suck less now. I ironically used the technique outlined at Savor Photography to take the piccy I used in the Pinterest thingymajig (technical term) that I abandoned. This thing:
Hated what I did with the whole daggy bulletin board business (hence the snazzy new ‘Pin of the Day’ logo), but it really helped with the lighting when I took the shot.
ANYWAY.

Rachel takes stunning photos!
You have to practice, a lot. Well, that is what I find!

In a word – shit. But that’s what Instagram, Pixlr-o-matic and the internet is for. You can’t be brilliant at everything! Though I am still looking for what I’m good at… Hope you’re doing okay. Back troubles are nasty, nasty, nasty. xx

You know what, I am SO friggen glad I can at least tick Photoshop skills off my list. If I had to learn that now….. Hennnyway, photography. Yes! My other “must learn more” thing. I have a couple of tricks but want to know more. So, thanks for the link! Shall bookmark it (shelve it for sometime later when I have time, like…. never in the foreseeable future) and wade through at my leisure. 😀

I love photography. I am trained (as my blog name would suggest) and still in training with my photography and get lots of lovely comments about my photos, but in saying that, I still have dud shots, but they just don’t get shown. I’m selective like that…
Hope your back is better soon!

Thanks for sharing this Bron. I would love to know how to take better photos but am currently stuck on the whole trial and error process. My camera is the basic 1000d so in low light with a rapidly moving subject (toddler) I struggle to get a sharp image.
Will have a read over at Savor photography for some tips, thanks.
